AUSTIN, Texas — Austin FC announced its Wednesday night game against the Atlanta United has been delayed by 30 minutes.

Kickoff will now happen at 8 p.m. CT at the Q2 Stadium.

The announcement about the delayed game start comes as Texas gets ready to experience record high temperatures. The temperature in Austin on Wednesday is expected to get into the triple digits.

Inside Q2 Stadium are water stations, misting stations and retractable shades.

The game was originally expected to start at 7:30 p.m.

The City of Austin has also prepared cooling centers in anticipation of the heat.
