Resurgence Brewing and Nick Charlap’s Ice Cream will both mark their second summer at the waterfront when Canalside’s summer season opens on May 9.

Resurgence at Canalside will host live entertainment throughout the summer. 

“This summer, Canalside will be the ultimate destination, featuring weekly programming designed to keep people by the water all season long, said Jeff Ware, owner and president, Resurgence Brewing. “Resurgence at Canalside will be serving up refreshing brews and delicious new food offerings, including pretzel poppers and charcuterie boxes, to accompany the waterfront views and entertainment.”

Canalside will host the USS Trippe, a War of 1812 replica boat, expanded vendor offerings, Fitness at Canalside classes, children’s programming, Saturday artisan markets, Children’s Book Festival and more this summer.

“2025 will be a great year to visit Canalside and enjoy the downtown waterfront,” said Lauren Ford, general manager, Buffalo Waterfront. “With the return of several popular family-friendly events, fitness programming, plus delicious fare, drinks and desserts, Canalside offers a one-of-a-kind destination for families looking to get outdoors this summer.”

Regular hours for all Canalside vendors, including Pedal and Paddle Boats, BFLO Harbor Kayak and Water Bikes of Buffalo, begin Friday, May 23 through Labor Day weekend. Blue Bike rentals will also be available beginning Memorial Day weekend. New this year, BuffaLove Apparel will open a kiosk near the Resurgence beer garden.
