The Watervliet Civic Center received funding on Wednesday to support its youth programming.

City officials are celebrating a $2,500 donation from Spectrum.

"The Watervliet Civic Center is such a great asset here in the city and provides so many valuable services to our kids. We are very grateful to Spectrum for their generosity and support to our community and I want to thank them on behalf of all our residents," city Mayor Charles Patricelli said.

Center leaders say the money will be used to help support the hundreds of kids they serve every year.

"The generous donation from Spectrum will have a positive impact on the hundreds of children and youth we serve on a yearly basis," said William Sheehy, executive director, Watervliet Civic Center. "The donation will allow the Watervliet Civic Center to continue its mission in offering wholesome, quality, and supervised programs and services to the youth of Watervliet. Our mission proudly dates back to 1946."
