CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Hopkins International Airport saw more travelers this March than last — almost 10% more.
In total, 876,834 travelers utilized the airport last month, 9.6% more than in March 2023, according to a press release from Cleveland Hopkins.
“CLE continues to be right on trend with our forecasted passenger numbers for 2024,” Director of Port Control Bryant Francis said in the release. “We had a very strong spring break travel period, the heart of which was in March and are looking ahead to our summer travel period which kicks off next month to continue our growth.”
For the current year-to-date, the passenger numbers have seen an 8% increase compared to last year. They are even 3% higher than the last pre-pandemic travel year of 2019.
“Approximately 10,250,000 passengers are forecasted to fly CLE in calendar year 2024,” the release reads. “For the first three months of the year, CLE is ahead of the forecast by 12,000 passengers.”
