A Rockland County man pleads not guilty to homicide charges after his baby twins were found dead in a hot car in the Bronx.

39-year-old Juan Rodriguez broke down in court yesterday, as he was charged with manslaughter and negligent homicide.

The father is accused of leaving the one-year-olds in his car while he worked all day Friday at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Kingsbridge.

Police say Rodriguez told them he thought he dropped the babies off at daycare and forgot they were in the car.

His attorney says Rodriguez is a veteran and a loving father who tragically got distracted by day-to-day life.

"Under no circumstance would anyone ever, ever want to see or believe they will see their one-year-old babies in a car and as a result of unfortunately leaving them there, those children dying way too soon,”  said Attorney Joey Jackson. “That’s something that family will never get over and that’s something that unfortunately happens in this country every day."

Rodriguez' wife and several other family members showed support for him as he left court.

After posting bail, Rodriguez is expected back in court later this week.
