NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Tar Heel alum and Kinston native Jerry Stackhouse is now anchored in Nashville.

Vanderbilt University selected Stackhouse as their new men's basketball coach. Stackhouse played at the University of North Carolina in the 90's before going on to play in the NBA, spending time with eight different teams over 18 seasons.

Most recently, Stackhouse was an assistant coach for the Memphis Grizzlies. At Vanderbilt, he'll replace Bryce Drew who was fired last month.
