Crews spent the overnight hours battling a house fire on Third Street in Waterford.

The home appears to be a total loss and firefighters were working Tuesday morning to keep the fire from spreading to the home next door.

According to the fire chief, a plow driver saw flames coming from the house around 2 a.m. and went in to get an adult and child from the downstairs area and then another adult upstairs.

No one was hurt in the blaze. Firefighters are looking at the front porch area as the possible origin of the fire.

The home will be demolished.

The road will be closed for part of Tuesday morning and then opened to one lane of traffic.
