The former IBM plant in Dutchess County is becoming a place where businesses can grow.
The iPark in Hopewell Junction is where IBM used to be. While a business occupied part of the space after IBM, most of it remained empty.
Industrial businesses and local food companies have been moving into the space. The organization Think Dutchess, which helps attach and grow businesses to the county, sees this site as a transformation that will benefit the community.
"It's almost a city within a city. So the master plan is to create a community where you can really live, work, and play," said Think Dutchess CEO Sarah Lee.
The 300 acre site has plenty more space for businesses to come. They’re about 1/3 full now.
