DURHAM, N.C. – Some guests at a motel in Durham had a rude awakening on Christmas morning.

Officials report that fire crews responded to a fire at the Carolina Duke Motor Inn around 10:30 a.m.

No injuries were reported but one room sustained heavy fire damage, and another three had smoke damage.

In all, ten guests had to be moved to other rooms.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
