APEX, N.C. -- Apex police arrested the driver of a tractor trailer that crashed into a railroad bridge Monday morning then left the scene.

Rayvon Smith, 41, of Henderson, is charged with leaving the scene of an accident after the truck he was driving collided with CSX railroad bridge on North Salem Street.

Officials with the NCDOT and CSX are still investigating the damaged bridge.           

The bridge will remain closed at least until the end of April as crews work on making repairs.
