The Kingston community is hoping to find a cure to childhood cancer by supporting kids with the deadly disease.
Before people attend the St. Baldrick's shave-a-thon on Sunday, one radio host decided to show kids they are not alone in their fight against cancer by shaving his head live on air Friday. Kevin Godbey has a granddaughter battling the disease and wanted to do his part.
"So many people walking around with their head shaved, people ask questions, so it's a lasting kind of message to people," Godbey said. "It helps draw awareness to the cause."
Sunday's shave-a-thon will be held at the Ulster Hose Fire Company in Kingston at 1 p.m. If you would like to show your support but still keep your hair, you can make donations here.
