A Monticello man will be spending the next 9 years in prison for violently assaulting and robbing a 75-year-old man at a gas station.

According to the Sullivan County District Attorney's Office, Keith Jackson was out on parole for a prior assault.

Jackson pleaded guilty to punching and throwing the man to the ground at a Monticello Citgo.

He was also sentenced to 5 years post-release supervision.
