Next week, it's game time for the Resorts World Catskills
Whether you like slot machines, or trying your luck at the tables is more your style, the gaming executives at the resort casino opening in Sullivan County say there is something for everyone.
Public gaming begins February 8 with more than 2,100 state-of-the-art slot machines. In addition to standard slots, they'll have games that offer a 3-D and 4-D gaming experience.
Executive Director of Slot Operations Tim Yahn says there are some games players can interact with by gesturing without touching the actual game, and they can sense movement. That interaction can also affect the outcome of game play.
He says many games will also feature familiar faces and images from the entertainment world, like the movie "Anchorman," TV shows "The Simpsons," "Orange is the New Black," Ellen Degeneres and others. They say these features help to make the gaming experience more exciting and attract new demographics of gamers.
The people at Resorts World Catskills say video gaming with social and touch components, the licensed games, the design of everything from the short, more private rows to the comfortable chairs are all for the comfort of guests and to draw in new demographics.
The table gaming environment was also designed to attract a diverse crowd of players. Two sections of games, targeted toward Asian and domestic markets, feature popular games across both markets. More than 112 tables will be open for gaming on opening day.
The heads of gaming at Resorts World Catskills say the goal is entertainment and comfort for everyone who comes through the door.
