Officials in Poughkeepsie met Tuesday to discuss what should be done about the lingering heating issues at the city's Rip Van Winkle affordable housing complex.
Mayor Rob Rolison, the city attorney and officials from the building department say property owners PK Management have issued a violation notice.
The city has given the company 72 hours to identify which apartments are without heat - and then schedule a time the city can meet with management to inspect the apartments in question. All issues must then be resolved in the same 72-hour time frame.
In a statement issued to Spectrum News before notice of the update, a PK Management representative said the company recently finished a $100,000 renovation at the property, which added new heating and hot water systems to the building.
The representative went on to say they have had mechanical contractors inspect each unit that has reported a problem and that contractors will remain on site until the problems are resolved.
