PENFIELD, N.Y. -- The Webster and Penfield communities are turning a family's loss into a commitment to spread laughter, play and kindness in a little boy's honor.

Jack's Place is scheduled to open in Penfield Sunday. The dinosaur-themed playground honors 3-year-old Jack Heiligman, who died in a lawnmover accident last October.

The new playground is at Rothfuss Park on Five Mile Line Road.

The outpouring of community support has been substantial, from sharing #BlueforJackJames, all the fundraisers and now Jack's Playground.

The grand opening ceremony for Jack's Place is Sunday 12 p.m.to 3 p.m. There’ll be music and food, and of course a chance to explore the new playground.
