The Woodbury Police Benevolent Association has given the police chief a vote of no confidence.

The PBA president says the group held a special meeting Tuesday, and members approved the vote of no confidence against Richard Vasquez. Vasquez has served as Chief since 2012 and is currently running for Rockland County Sheriff this November.

In a letter to the Town Board, the PBA president said, "The vote was overwhelmingly approved by the members, who believe that the chief fails to provide the leadership, professionalism, objectivity and vision to properly discharge his duties for the town. The morale of the police department has so deteriorated that the PBA believes the damage is not repairable under his administration."
