On this edition of "Driver's Ed," Ed Keiner shows you why and how to clean a rusted old trailer hitch.

If you find your hitch ball is dirty or rusty, you could find yourself with electrical problems. But they're easier to keep clean than you might think.

If your hitch ball is only slightly rusty, you can use vinegar and aluminum foil to polish the chrome.

If your ball is really rusty, you can take it a step further and use steel wool or a wire brush.

After you've made sure your hitch ball is clean, it's a good idea to throw away the stock pin and invest in a locking pin.
