BUFFALO, N.Y. — From singing in Salsaritas to becoming a viral sensation and ending up on Ellen, officers Moe Badger and Michael Norwood have had an amazing ride as Buffalo’s singing cops.

“It's still hard to put into words because what we experienced because we’re two kids from the East Side of Buffalo," Badger said.

Those two Buffalo kids have now traveled around the world as contestants on "The Amazing Race."

“In 2019, they reached out to us right around the time we did the Ellen show and some other different things," said Officer Norwood. "And the next thing you know, we were flying out to LA to cast for the show, and here we are today as cast members."

The duo traveled across the pond to England, racing against 11 teams for a prize of $1 million. They say they experienced the longest pit stop ever as filming was halted due to COVID-19.

“It took almost two years," said Norwood. "We started filming this when COVID-19 was hitting, so we had to come back because the world was basically shutting down.“

Despite the wait, the pair says they are grateful for the experience and will continue to represent the Queen City wherever success takes them and give back to their hometown.

“None of this is possible without Western New York," said Badger. "We’re just some Buffalo kids that are trying to make a difference in our community and to be acknowledged for what we’re trying to do in the community is just amazing to us."
