CRAWFORD, N.Y. -- A fire at a two story barn in the town of Crawford brought out dozens upon dozens of responders Saturday afternoon.
The chief of the Pine Bush Fire District says it took 75 to 80 people from eight departments to control the situation.
He says the barn on Gillespe Street was engulfed when they arrived, after initial report of a brush fire just before 1 p.m.
The chief says there was no loss of life, with responders able to get animals out of the barn.
They were also able to recover a number of pieces of equipment.
"Obviously, our prime concern is for life, so once we're confident that they're, you know, we do our searches, we send our guys do go into the buildings, to make sure everybody's out of the house, of the barn, and then, again, property obviously, is what we're here to protect as well," said Neal Russell, Pine Bush Fire District Chief.
The chief says the cause of the fire is under investigation.
