Tamani Wooley is an Emmy Award winning television anchor, host, reporter and producer with more than 15 years of experience in broadcast journalism. Kicking off her career in New York City, Tamani started as an entertainment reporter interviewing celebrities like Hugh Jackman, Halle Berry and John Travolta. She transitioned to local news as a freelance news assistant before being promoted to a reporter at Spectrum News’ sister station, NY 1 in 2007. After helping to launch the former Fios 1 News channel, Tamani returned to Spectrum News as an anchor/reporter in 2013.
You can catch her weekday mornings reporting for “Your Mornings on Spectrum News 1” and filling in regularly on the anchor desk. Tamani is also the host of “On the Menu,” where she enjoys introducing her fellow foodies to restaurants across the region. On an almost weekly basis, Tamani runs into viewers who thank her for either covering their own restaurant or for leading them to their new favorite one! When it comes to her recommendations - she says to head to Allie B’s Cozy Kitchen for the best mac and cheese!
Tamani is a proud mom of four foster daughters, cat, Berry White, and rescue dog, Lucy. She’s an alumnus of the University of Delaware and Long Island University. Tamani is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated. A passionate theater lover, Tamani sits on the board of The Capital Repertory Theatre. She’s an avid baker of the best homemade chocolate chip cookies and peach cobbler. In her spare time, you can find Tamani spending time with family and friends, out in the community volunteering or catching a show at one of the local theaters.
