Syracuse just finished its ninth-warmest month of November on record.

The mean temperature for the month came out to be 45.2 degrees, almost five degrees above the average of 40.5 degrees.

So, how did we get there?

Keep in mind, average high temperatures in November here in the Salt City start in the mid-50s at the start of the month, falling into the low 40s by the end.

In Nov. 2022, we had one day with a high in the 80s, four days in the 70s, and six days each in the 60s and 50s.

Average low temperatures in November start in the mid-30s on Nov. 1 and fall into the upper-20s by the end.

In Nov. 2022, we had one day with a low in the 60s, two days in the 50s, and seven days in the 40s. This means that one-third of lows in November were unseasonably mild!

Despite the warm weather we have just experienced, November has still proven to be even warmer in the past.

The warmest November on record in Syracuse occurred in 1931, when the mean temperature was an astounding 48.7 degrees.

As we wrap up the year, we will see if December will be making the top-ten warmest list, or if conditions will turn more seasonable as we head into winter here in central New York.
