Now that it’s officially spring, many of us are waiting for sustained springtime warmth.
Spring is a transition season between the cold winter months and the summer heat. If you ever lived in Syracuse, extreme temperature swings during the spring shouldn’t phase you.
Since March, Syracuse continues to ride the temperature roller coaster. Just last month, the region had three days where temperatures peaked at or above 70 degrees.
The warmest day so far this year occurred on March 6, when temperatures peaked at 75 degrees. The day before that, the high was only 46! Talk about a temperature swing from one day to the next.
So far this spring, Syracuse has yet to report a high of 80 degrees or better. However, by this time last year, Syracuse already had two days where temperatures hit 80 degrees or higher.
While temperatures improve and warm to above-average levels this week, 80-degree readings are not in our near future.
