Following a meteorological winter with less snow than average in the Salt City, the month of March continued this trend while also staying quite warm. Let's look at the numbers.

Temperatures

The mean temperature for March 2022 in Syracuse was 37 degrees, which is 3.2 degrees above average.

When examining just the highs, we ended up 4.4 degrees above average versus 2 degrees above average in terms of lows.

The warmest we got during the month of March was on the 6th with a temperature of 75 degrees.

This came just two days after the coldest reading of the month, which was 11 degrees.

Precipitation

We continued the snowfall deficit in March as we only picked up on 15.9 inches.

This is 3.9 inches below average for Syracuse.

When considering the entire seasonal snowfall, by the end of the month we ended up at 74 inches of accumulation, an astounding 50.7 inches below average.

March recorded 2.52 inches of rain, which is about a half-inch below average for the month.
