WEATHER HEADLINES:
→ Snow Showers Expected Tonight
→ Scattered Snow Showers Continue Monday
→ Drying Out Tuesday
Current Weather Alerts:
Central New York | Northern New York | Southern Tier
After seeing rain and snow showers on Sunday, precipitation type looks to flip to mainly snow overnight from the North Country to the Southern Tier. The snow will not fall too heavily in general, but could lead to some slick roads first thing Monday morning for areas that dip below 32 degrees. The most persistent snow looks to fall east of Lake Ontario, including the Tug Hill Plateau. Snow totals of 5 to 9 inches are possible by early Monday morning in this area, with minor accumulations of a trace to a couple of inches at most elsewhere.
Lows Tonight:
- Central New York: 30 - 34
- Northern New York: 26 - 32
- Southern Tier: 29 - 33

On Monday, scattered snow shower activity will continue. There will also be some dry time in the mix as well, so not everyone will see persistent snow throughout the entire day. With slightly-above-average temperatures, roads will become just wet versus snow-covered for most of the day, but after sunset these roads could turn slick once again, especially untreated surfaces. Additional minor accumulations of a trace to 2 or 3 inches of snow are possible, especially in the hills south of Syracuse, on the Tug Hill Plateau, and the northwestern fringe of the Adirondacks through Tuesday morning.
Highs Monday:
- Central New York: 33 - 36
- Northern New York: 30 - 35
- Southern Tier: 32 - 39
A few lingering snow showers or flurries are possible on Tuesday morning with drier weather arriving region-wide for the afternoon. Highs will turn colder, only reaching the 20s to near 30.
Dry conditions are expected from the North Country to the Southern Tier from Wednesday through Friday. Temperatures will be more seasonable, in the upper-20s and low-30s for daytime highs.
As has been the case for the past several weekends, it looks like this upcoming weekend will also feature unsettled weather. We will keep you posted on the finer details as models come together on a solution, but right now some rain or snow showers are not completely out of the question for Saturday and Sunday.
