If you lost a summer vacation to the pandemic, you're not alone.

The American Automobile Association estimates that 150 million people had to cancel travel plans this summer.

They've just come out with their summer travel forecast, and no surprise, most trips are happening by car.

In fact, this year, 97 percent of summer trips are road trips.

According to the AAA, air travel is down 74 percent. Trains, cruises, and other forms of travel are down 86 percent.

The only number that's close to normal is car travel, which is down just 3 percent compared to last year.

AAA said they're also seeing more spur-of-the-moment travel.  A majority of people are booking two to seven days before departure.

There's little surprise when it comes to top flight destinations though. Orlando, Florida is still the no. 1 destination for AAA bookings.

Disney is expected to begin a phased reopening on July 11.
