One of five Syracuse University players to enter the transfer portal since March, redshirt freshman forward John Bol Ajak, has reconsidered and returned to the Orange program.

The 6-feet-10-inches tall native of Sudan redshirted in 2019-20 and played sparingly last season, appearing in only 10 games and scoring just two points. He also accumulated two blocked shots and four rebounds in his limited action, but also played in his first NCAA tournament game against San Diego State before deciding to enter the portal March 29.

Bol Ajak's return gives head coach Jim Boeheim 11 scholarship players to work with, including four potential centers in Bol Ajak, Jesse Edwards, Frank Anselem, and Bourama Sidibe. Syracuse also boasts incoming transfer forwards Jimmy Boeheim and Cole Swider along with true freshman forward Benny Williams.

The Orange lost forwards Marek Dolezaj to graduation, Quincy Guerrier to the Oregon Ducks, Robert Braswell to Charlotte, Woody Austin to Oklahoma State, and Alan Griffin to the NBA Draft.

SU also lost guard Kadary Richmond to Seton Hall.
