As season ticket sales begin for Syracuse football, the JMA Wireless Dome is about to receive its latest makeover.

Season tickets go on sale today, starting at $99. The seat selection process will depend on fans’ donor rank through the Cuse Athletics Fund.

The Orange are coming off a 6-7 season that featured a Boca Raton Bowl appearance, and will enter 2024 with a new head coach in former Georgia assistant and top-ranked recruiter Fran Brown.

As a former SU football player, Deputy Athletics Director for Business Development Torrey Ball never imagined the renovations the Dome has seen over the last few years.

“I couldn't imagine a dome having [air conditioning]," Ball said. "That was the biggest competitive advantage that we had.”

From a fixed roof to a massive jumbotron, the Dome has seen extensive work since 2016. The latest improvement: fixed chairback seating for all fans at every level, which is the first reseating of the Dome in its history.

“Everybody gets at least two inches," Ball said of extra space the chairs will provide. "Some people get four. You think about four inches: I'm a big dude and four inches is good for me. You get an at-home seat … as you experience the game. And that's what we're so excited about giving people that elevated experience of having that nice seat in the Dome.”

It comes at a price. Capacity for football will drop from 49,000 to 42,000. Basketball capacity drops from 36,000 to 31,000. But the feeling from officials is that it’s all fueling continued resurgence around the university’s athletics.

“There's a resurgence like, ‘hey, we're almost there,’ " Ball said. "We're almost to the point where [we] can look at a Final Four run like 2016 and some of those kind of runs. And I think that's where the energy comes from. The energy comes from our team’ the excitement of having the excitement of having a new recruiting class’ but also the excitement of having a new dome. I think I've been saying this to our staff [that] 2024 is going to be the year of new.”
