The Syracuse Orange football team will be heading south for their bowl game.
The Orange will match up against the University of South Florida in the Boca Raton Bowl on Thursday, Dec. 21 at 8 p.m.
USF finished 6-6 in the American Athletic Conference.
It comes after the Orange took care of business against Wake Forest, getting their sixth win in the final game of the season. They faced that last game with interim coach Nunzio Campanile after Dino Babers was fired.
SU has since hired a new head coach, Fran Brown. Brown comes from Georgia, where he coached the defensive backs.
Brown landed in Syracuse for the first time on Sunday ahead of his official introduction on Monday. Syracuse University Director of Athletics John Wildhack was there to greet Brown and said he's the perfect pick for the Orange.
"He's the right person at the right time," Wildhack said of Brown. "If you look at what he's accomplished and where he's coached and the people he's coached under. He's got the northeast roots and ties that were so important to us. He is the right person to lead our program."
