After making six straight trips to the Super 16 but never reaching the championship game, Boeheim's Army added a player with three TBT titles on his resume Thursday.
Kane, a former All-American at Iowa State, won three consecutive TBT championships while playing for Overseas Elite from 2016-18. When that team disbanded after the 2020 Basketball Tournament, Kane became a coveted free agent.
The 6-foot, 5-inch shooting guard is renowned for his versatility, and Army general manager Kevin Belbey says he also brings toughness to the table.
"A challenge for us is we’ve had the talent, but we needed to get tougher," said Belbey. "Deandre is one of the toughest players in TBT history. He can play all five positions offensively and defensively, and always takes on the challenge of guarding the other team’s best player.”
Kane's addition brings the total number of players on this summer's team to 10, including mainstay Eric Devendorf. Boeheim's Army will hold a training camp in Syracuse in late July before leaving for Peoria, Illinois for its first game on July 24.
