Coming into New Hartford's contest against Utica Notre Dame, Kaia Henderson needed five points to reach the 2,000-point milestone.

It didn't take long for her to get it done. Late in the first, she grabbed up a loose ball and tiptoed down the line before going right to the rack for a beautiful layup.

She joins an exclusive group with this accomplishment. Only 10 Section III girls players have scored over 2,000 points, including Emily Durr and Breanna Stewart.

Durr holds the Section III scoring record, which is 2,400 points. Henderson is only a junior, so it seems like she could easily hit that number during her senior year.

"If you would have told me in sixth grade that I was going to be scoring 2,000 plus points, I would have been like, 'are you crazy?' What even is 2,000 points in high school basketball? It was a goal," Henderson said.
