An Ohio transplant, Justin Bachman joined the Spectrum News team in 2018 as a proud reporter. A Syracuse University graduate, Justin has put down his roots in the Central New York community and now happily considers this his home. Plus, growing up in the Midwest, Justin values how friendly, welcoming and caring the Central New York community has been to him. For this reason, Justin feels truly connected to his viewers across the region. 

As a reporter, Justin loves being able to share positive stories of the amazing good being done in Central New York. To illustrate, Justin covered the story of the Dunn family who lost their daughter, Mary, in a car accident in 2007. A registered donor, Mary’s organs saved four lives and inspired others to become donors themselves, while showing that light can be found in times of immense darkness. Additionally, Justin spent time covering the Syracuse Challenger Baseball League. This league lets special needs kids get out on the diamond free from judgement. Justin spent every Sunday of his summers as a kid volunteering at a league like this back in Cleveland, so being able to spread their inspiring story as an adult is something Justin will always keep close to his heart.

When Justin isn’t in the newsroom, you can find him volunteering and raising awareness for local organizations across the region. Personally affected by Tourette's syndrome, Justin works with affected kids to help them embrace their differences and realize that they can do anything they put their minds to. In his free-time, Justin enjoys stopping at Stella's Diner or Crazy Daisies for brunch.
