A suspect was charged in the town of Lansing after a shots-fired incident Thursday morning that prompted a delay in the school day at the Lansing Public School District.
The Tompkins County Sheriff's Office said Thursday a shots-fired incident on North Lansing School Road just after midnight prompted a response from deputies. The person who called 911 had fled the home where they said one of the three people living in the house had made threats and fired what deputies called a long gun.
Deputies located the subject, Yair Elver Perez-Raymundo, 19, of 139 N. Lansing School Road, Thursday afternoon. The person who had left the scene with him before police arrived was also located and found to be unharmed.
Perez-Raymundo was currently charged with reckless endangerment and menacing. He is being held at the Tompkins County Jail and was scheduled to be arraigned later Thursday evening.
