Former Utica mayor Louis LaPolla was sentenced Wednesday in Oneida County Court.

LaPolla, who was also the former president of the Utica City School Board, pleaded guilty to petty larceny earlier this year for stealing from the school district.

He and the city school district's longtime superintendent were arrested last year, accused of using taxpayer resources for political campaigns and a fundraiser not connected with the school.

He's been sentenced to three years probation and 60 days of house arrest.
