Syracuse firefighters responded to two fires in the city this weekend, with one displacing seven people.
A Westmoreland Avenue fire, on the city's east side, quickly consumed all three floors Sunday morning. The building was deemed a total loss; however, everyone inside the building had safely escaped by the time firefighters arrived.
The home's seven occupants are being assisted by the American Red Cross.
On Saturday evening, firefighters put out a fire at a vacant house at 107 Graves Street on the city's north side. The flames were out in roughly 30 minutes; an investigation into the fire's cause is ongoing.
