Forty-one years after her disappearance, Tammy Mahoney's last known whereabouts have been confirmed by the FBI.

FBI agents said Monday it has long been thought that the 19-year-old was last seen on May 8, 1981 while hitchhiking off State Route 46 in Oneida County.

Now they can officially confirm she was taken to a party on Territory Road in Oneida.

From there, she was last seen leaving the party on foot after an altercation.

The FBI is still getting new info about this case all these years later and say any new piece of the puzzle could lead to justice being served.

"The public can be a huge tool for us and that's why we put this new information out there we're trying to appeal to the fact that everybody involved here is an individual right? And that there's a family there's a family that wants this kind of justice," said Sarah Ruane, FBI Albany Field Office public affairs specialist.

The FBI said that if these new details may have jogged your memory about the decades old case, they're still taking calls at 315-731-1781.
