New York State is cracking down on drunk and impaired driving.
Governor Cuomo announced Tuesday that the Stop DWI: Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign starts on Wednesday, August 19 and runs through Labor Day on Monday, September 7.
The governor's office says from 2010 to 2019, fatal crashes involving an impaired driver decreased more than 19 percent.
Throughout this crackdown, law enforcement will step up patrols and there will be signs alerting drivers about the consequences of impaired driving.
