Over the next 10 years, New York’s population over the age of 65 will double compared to the levels it was at in 2010.

Now, the state Departments of Health and the Aging are soliciting input from the public on the needs and priorities of this population as it molds its master plan on aging.

Adam Herbst, Master Plan for Aging Chair and Deputy Commissioner of the Department of Health's Office of Aging and Long-term Care, told Capital Tonight recently that the boom in the over 65 population will be a “seismic demographic shift that’s going to change every aspect of our lives.”

The survey, which is open until Dec. 31, can be completed online or via hard copy which can be found here.
