Freshman Rep. Marc Molinaro has now been seated on his third House committee — this one the House Committee on Small Business.

The panel has jurisdiction over issues related to small businesses and conducts oversight over the Small Business Administration.

“I’m honored to be named to the House Committee on Small Business," Molinaro said in a statement Friday. "Receiving three committee assignments is a high honor for a freshman Member of Congress. It will amplify my impact for Upstate New York and help me deliver results for local small businesses at a crucial time.”

Molinaro, the new Republican congressman representing New York's 19th Congressional District, will also serve on the House Committee on Agriculture and the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure. He will be joined on the latter by other newly elected Republicans in the New York delegation.

“Right now, small businesses in Upstate New York are bearing the brunt of record-high inflation and desperately need support. On the House Small Business Committee, I will be focused on empowering entrepreneurs and supporting commonsense policy that reduces the burden government places on small businesses," Molinaro said.

The 19th District stretches from the upper Hudson Valley and stretches through parts of the Southern Tier and includes the cities of Ithaca and Binghamton.
