With early voting underway in New York state, Democrat and U.S. Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer and his Republican challenger, Joseph Pinion, faced off in a televised debate on Spectrum News in the race for one of New York's seats in the upper chamber.

The one-hour event, held at Union College, was moderated by "Inside City Hall" host Errol Louis and "Capital Tonight" political anchor Susan Arbetter.
