A former aide to Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Sunday accused him of sexually harassing her by commenting on her appearance.
Lindsey Boylan, a former economic developmental aide who worked in the Cuomo administration from 2015 to 2018, made the allegation on Twitter.
Boylan wrote the harassment took place "for years" and that there are witnesses. She has declined to speak with reporters.
Cuomo's office in a statement denied the allegation.
"There is simply no truth to these claims," said Caitlin Girouard, a spokeswoman for Cuomo.
Boylan ran in a Democratic primary for Congress earlier this year and is now running for Manhattan borough president.
Last week, Boylan wrote on Twitter that Cuomo's office was a "toxic" work environment.
The Associated Press on Sunday reported Boylan left the Cuomo administration after complaints about her own behavior surfaced from staff members.
Editor’s Note: An earlier version of this story incorrectly said the governor’s spokesperson had referred to Boylan as a disgruntled former employee. No member of the governor’s staff said that. We regret the error.
