Gov. Kathy Hochul announced Friday Anthony Hogrebe will become her administration's next communications director.
Hogrebe replaces Julie Wood, who is departing from the post this month.
"As we work to make New York more affordable, more livable and safer, it's critical to have a talented and experienced team in place," Hochul said. "I'm excited to welcome Anthony Hogrebe to my Administration and am confident his decades of experience in New York government and politics will be an asset to our team as we move the State forward. I'm grateful to Julie Wood, who has been with me from the beginning of my time as Governor, for her hard work and dedication to the people of New York."
Hogrebe previously served in the press office for New York City Mayor Mayor Eric Adams as a deputy communications director and senior advisor for strategic communications. He has also worked with the public affairs firm Marathon Strategies as a senior vice president.
Hogrebe is taking the job in the governor's office nearly two years into her tenure since she assumed role in the wake of Andrew Cuomo's resignation in 2021. Since then, Hochul won a full term in 2022.
