Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance Commissioner Daniel Tietz announced Tuesday he will resign from the role he's held over the last year and a half, citing personal reasons.
Tietz's resignation is effective July 25.
As the commissioner of the lead agency involved with providing assistance to needy people, Tietz pointed to the efforts in distributing billions of dollars in pandemic-era relief aid to families as well as the administration of funding for supportive housing and the start of a council on childhood poverty.
Tietz also cheered agreements in the state budget to expand the child tax credit to include children under the age of 4 and address the loss of benefits for people who have been victims of card skimming.
“I am forever grateful to Governor Hochul for having provided me the opportunity to lead this vital agency and wish her and the administration continued success," Tietz said.
