New York's attorney general's office on Thursday announced an election protection hotline is available ahead of the upcoming June 27 primary in New York in order to report any problems at polling locations.
The telephone hotline will open between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. starting June 17 through June 25. It will also be open during polling hours between 6 a.m. and 9 p.m. on June 27.
The hotline number is (866) 390-2992. Complaints may also be submitted online.
“The right to vote is paramount to the integrity of our democracy,” said state Attorney General Letitia James. “Our election protection hotline is a key resource available to all New Yorkers throughout our great state to provide helpful guidance and address concerns. Whether they are voting by mail, stopping by an early voting site, or casting their ballot in-person at the polls, my office will ensure that New Yorkers can securely and effectively participate in our electoral process.”
An election hotline to report voting problems has been in place since 2012.
