Gov. Kathy Hochul's bid for a full term this week picked up the endorsements of seven International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers local unions as well as the National Organization for Women of New York, her campaign announced.

Hochul is seeking a four-year term this year after she was elevated to the governor's office last August.

Her campaign on Friday announced the endorsements of IBEW Locals 43, 236, 363, 589, 1212, 2104, and 2032, representing nearly 9,000 members combined.

“It is an honor to be endorsed by the hardworking members of IBEW locals across New York State who work tirelessly to keep our state powered and moving forward," Hochul said. “Together, we’ll continue to ensure New York honors its proud union heritage by creating good-paying jobs, ensuring safe working conditions, and making strong investments in our infrastructure.”

On Thursday, meanwhile, Hochul was endorsed by NOW-NY. Hochul is the first woman to serve as governor of the state.

“Governor Hochul has spent her career breaking barriers and lifting up women and families along the way. She is without a question the best person for the job and we are so proud to endorse her for a full term,” said Sonia Ossorio, the president of the National Organization for Women of New York. “As governor, Kathy Hochul has already spearheaded reforms for women across the state, from enacting protections for women in the workplace to expanding access to paid leave and affirming reproductive rights. And I know she’ll continue to get things done for women and families across the state.”

Hochul is facing a likely Democratic primary challenge from U.S. Rep. Tom Suozzi and New York City Public Advocate Jumaane Williams.
