Republican Rep. Elise Stefanik on Thursday is set to endorse two of the GOP candidates running statewide this year as the party seeks to break the Democratic hold on elected offices.
Stefanik, the House Republican Conference chair, is endorsing Michael Henry, the party's candidate for state attorney general challenging incumbent Democrat Letitia James.
“New York is in the grips of a serious crime crisis thanks to Radical Democrats' pro-criminal policies," she said. "Michael Henry will stand up to the Far-Left agenda that puts criminals first and law-abiding New Yorkers last. I am proud to support him for attorney general."
She is also backing U.S. Senate candidate Joe Pinion, who is running to unseat Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer.
"Joe Pinion brings fresh ideas and a renewed perspective to a state crying out for a new generation of vibrant, principled, conservative leadership in the U.S. Senate,” Stefanik said.
Both Pinion and Henry received the backing of the state Republican Committee at the party's convention on Long Island last week.
