Syracuse city leaders are trying to figure out the best path forward to help fund the municipal sidewalk program.

Program fees come out of taxpayer dollars, but state tax dollars may also provide reimbursement.

The next step is for the common council is to vote on this legislation March 31, which allows the city to put out bids for this work and to enter into contracts. If all goes according to plan, city officials believe sidewalk construction can begin as soon as April.
