November is National Family Caregivers Month and the New York State Office for the Aging wants you to know about the resources available to caregivers.
More than half of the roughly 4 million caregivers in New York are unpaid.
These caregivers can include family members, friends, or neighbors.
To help caregivers self-identify, NYSOFA has developed a Caregivers Guide Video that summarizes the many services and supports available to caregivers in New York State.
They can get access to services and support including transportation, nutrition programs, meals, personal care, legal services, social programs and more.
There is also a New York State Caregiver Portal which features lessons on caregiving skills and support groups.
To learn more about these programs, visit NYSOFA’s website or contact NY Connects at 1-800-342-9871.
