BUFFALO, N.Y. - The American Gaming Association expects a record-setting $35 billion to be legally wagered this NFL season. So, if you bet during Thursday night's game, you certainly aren't alone. Joe Maloney of the AGA spoke about this record, and September being Responsible Gaming Education Month.

This is AGA’s first-ever legal wagering estimate for the NFL season. The association did this analysis after the 2023 NFL season estimates came in at a whopping $26.7 billion.

More than two-thirds of American adults, or 67%, live in a legal sports betting market. This includes 38 states and Washington, D.C.

Throughout the season, the AGA encourages football fans to "Have A Game Plan" and bet responsibly:

  • Know the odds
  • Play legally
