A community block party was held to honor the birthday of the Utica teen who was killed by a police officer earlier this summer. Nyah Mway, 13, was killed after he ran from police and during a struggle, flashed what looked like a Glock, but was actually a pellet gun, according to police.

Mway was shot while on the ground.

His family and community members celebrated what would have been his 14th birthday on Aug. 8.
