Men step aside. The women are taking over tonight at SUNY Oswego.
For the first time in the history of the university’s television club, there will be an all-women hockey broadcast.
The campus TV station, WTOP-10, works hard to broadcast their D3 hockey games and Friday night, for the first time, people behind and in front of the cameras will all be women. It's a broadcast milestone for the club.
Two women are leading the task of putting the broadcast together, and spent months planning. They continued to hold meetings ahead of the big event. They’ve reached out to alumnae to record short videos of inspiration to play during the pre-game show.

“This broadcast is historic, it’s a milestone. But it doesn’t stop here. That’s the biggest thing that I want to emphasize, because the alumni before us worked really hard to make this happen," said Jolie Santiago, co-producer and play-by-play commentator of the broadcast.
The Oswego men's hockey team faces Brockport tonight in the Marano Campus Center. The pre-game show begins at 6:30 p.m. and the game starts at 7 p.m. It will also be Pride Night in the Deborah Stanley Arena.
